Three words: Valentine’s Day sucks. Valentine’s Day is a waste of time and money. It’s the time of the year when Hallmark and all those companies make huge revenues by emphasizing how you NEED to buy the perfect gift for your loved ones. Many people say that it sucks being single on Valentine’s Day but I think it is just the opposite. What sucks the most is being in a relationship. There’s this pressure of having to buy the perfect gift, perfect date, and perfect outfit. For what??? What’s the point? Why do we need a holiday to express our love? I think a small gift for no special occasion has a much deeper meaning than an expensive one on February 14. I know all this seems quite pessimistic but it’s the truth!! If you love your friends or your “special someone” tell them whenever you want to. Don’t wait until this time of the year. To sum it up, February 14 is overrated.
